What I do.
I walk. I draw. I feel. I paint.
In the studio as memory fades, I work. I search for a semblance of clarity; a distillation of a memory dredged and retread.
I work. Clarity must find me at work or it is lost.
I repeat… the walk, the draw, the paint; I must somehow trigger clarity… I repeat.
The works, often small in scale, are evidences of those walks, of the experience of being and of making and of the struggle to make sense of it all. I was there. I saw that thing, that place. I experienced. I was touched; changed somehow.
These paintings offer a taste of what I experience and how I feel about it. But they become things in their own right, things to be experienced. To touch the viewer and to leave them… changed somehow.
